RESEARCH INTERESTS
My laboratory focuses on signaling networks regulating plant innate immunity and mechanisms of the plant-microbe interaction through molecular biology, biochemical and genetic approaches. My long-term goal is to improve crop resistance towards plant pathogens by genetic improvement. Currently we are interested in: (1) mechanisms of plant immune genes expression governed by various types of transcription factors and epigenetic modification; (2) cloning and identification of tomato PRRs recognizing PAMPs from Ralstonia solanacearum and elucidation of the molecular function and signaling transduction; (3) mechanism of protein post-translational modification in plant immune signaling.
